About us
About Larch & Loam, a Calgary yard and garden crew
We are a small team of gardeners and builders looking after yards across Calgary, in every season. Our name comes from two things a good garden here depends on.
Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere and Okotoks. Office hours Monday to Friday, plus Saturday mornings from April to October.
Why “larch” and why “loam”
The larch is the conifer that turns gold in the mountains west of the city each September, drops its needles for winter and grows them back every spring. It does not fight the seasons; it works with them.
Loam is the dark, crumbly soil every Calgary clay yard wishes it had. It is the slow work underneath that nobody sees, and the reason a garden is still thriving five years later.
Between the two you have our approach: plan around the seasons we actually get, and do the groundwork properly.
How we work
Four habits that come up in almost every conversation with clients.
One crew per yard
The same people mow in July, rake in October and clear snow in January. They know where the sprinkler heads are and which gate sticks.
Prices in writing
Every season starts with a written plan: visits, work and price. If something changes, you hear about it before the work, not on the invoice.
Plants that survive here
We plant for zone 4 winters, chinook swings and dry summers, and we tell you honestly when a favourite from elsewhere will struggle.
Tidy every day
Paths swept, tools away and gates latched at the end of every visit and every build day, whatever state the job is in.
The crew
Names and roles here are sample content for this demo. A real site shows its own team, with illustrated or real portraits as they prefer.
Maren O.
Garden designer
Draws the plans and plant lists, and walks every new yard before a quote goes out.
Dev K.
Build lead
Runs patio, wall and planting builds, and checks every base before stone goes down.
Josie T.
Lawn and garden crew lead
Leads the weekly lawn routes and writes most of the photo notes you receive.
Ari B.
Office and scheduling
Books walk-throughs, moves visits around the weather and answers the phone.
Licences and insurance
A real landscaping business lists its licence, workers’ compensation and insurance details here, so clients and property managers can check them before work starts.
